The Pumpkin Patch Craft Fair

As some of you may know, every year in October I take part in a local Pumpkin Patch Week End Craft Fair, (check out the link to the 1st one I attended), this year I'm attending 2 week ends, this being my first one. It is held in a large marque in a huge field.  It was extremely wet and muddy and not as many visitors as there usually are but it was great to see friends and the other regular stall holders, some of whom I only see at this yearly event. It was also great to meet new faces and new stalls.
This year I decided to have a carved pumpkin as a decoration for my table, here is the one I chose

My Perfect Pumpkin

No traditional Jack 'O' Lantern for me........

Pumpkin Carving

I carved a Fairy Door and swirly grass, (and a couple of toadstools around the other side).....

Carving a Fairy Door in a Pumpkin

I'm going to pop over and visit Handmade Harbours linky party so I'll leave you with a newly painted House with a Halloween theme...

A Halloween House

I've put in a request for dry week, I'd especially love a dry couple of days at the week end of my next Pumpkin Fair, so fingers crossed..... I'll report more next week so for now I'm wishing you all a great week..

  1. Although I tend not to do much for Halloween, I love the colours especially the pumpkins. Your carving is great and I love it that is not the usual face. Gorgeous fairy doors too. Hope you have a good week.

  2. I have never carved a pumpkin! It must have looked lovely in the table. Hope the next fair goes well.

  3. I love your halloween house - very spooky. The door in the pumpkin makes me think of James and the Giant Peach.

  4. Aww i loooooove your Halloween house! So full of character, its adorable.

Well done getting a fairy door into your pumpkin, carving them is not as easy as it looks is it!

I really hope the weather holds for you x

  5. I've only carved one pumpkin before (very basic face) and that was hard going so I'm in awe of what you've done.

I love the Halloween house. The pumpkin looks really scarey !!! xx

  6. Your pumpkin looks enormous. Are you going to have a lot of pumpkin soup? I can remember making a turnip lantern as a child, which was very tricky to carve.

  7. That's a very beautiful pumpkin, the carving is great, but I do love nature's work with the lovely twisty stalk too!

  8. ooo is it this weekend - your craft fair? I would love to come if so.... looks like a lot of fun and i would love to see the fairy door pumpkin in person....

  9. Love the pumpkin and the spooky house! I grew up in Suffolk (my family is still there) but I got married to an American and ended up over in the US. Halloween is one of my favourite times of year. I must confess that before I came over to the states I never realised how pumpkins grew and how wonderful they look in the fields with the vines twirling all over the ground.

  10. Oooohhh I LOVE your houses :) The pumpkins pretty cool to. Good luck with your next fair and I hope it stays dry for you.

  11. Love the spoooky house and especially the pumpkin - nothing like getting covered in drying pumpkin when you scoop the inards out - that's my least favourite part...!

  12. The pumpkin is ace, please will you come and carve mine x:)

  13. I love your design for your pumpkin. Quite original. I hope your fairs go well for you.

I love reading your comments and I'll always try to get back to you :)
