J is for......

It's come to my attention that I haven't done an alphabet post in quite a while. I am now up to the letter  J and what a coincidence!!,  it just so happens that last week I had a request for a Jungle Themed Door Plaque for Joshua.

I love painting these plaques, they are fun to do. This one is similar to other Jungle Plaques I've painted but the customer wanted this one without the snake that usually accompanies the monkey.
Here are some other items I found begining with the letter J,  I found these while browsing through Folksy

I haven't worked out how to do a link where you click on the picture so please click in the shop name link and it will take you direct to their shops so you can see all their other lovely items.

Meldreth Manor School Bike Show

Each year me and hubby don our bike gear and head off to one of our favourite events held by  Royston Motorcycle Club and hosted in the grounds of Meldreth Manor School. It is a Scope School for disabled pupils aged from 9 to 19 years. It is a fantastic school in the village of Meldreth just outside Cambridge.

Just a few bikes...
It is a short one evening show but attracts thousands of visitors, this year it was estimated that 3000 bikes turned up. All monies raised go to support East Anglian Air Ambulance and Scope.

...and they keep on coming

There are lots of stands where you can see bikes from old.....

......... to new

and a few unusual exhibits too........

We had a brilliant evening, it's the friendliest show I know, the pupils and all the wonderful staff and volunteers from the school had a great evening.

The weather was kind to us and the evening stayed warm and dry. The organisers, marshals and helpers done a wonderful job to make our evening enjoyable so our thanks to them all.

Bye for now.....

A Photograph Holder for Fathers Day

Did you all have a good day today? I did. It's the time of year when there are lots of motorcycle shows to choose from and what better than to go to a show that is being held in one of my favourite seaside towns, Wells next to the Sea, the Bike Show is aptly called Wheels next the Sea. We were lucky with the weather and it stayed dry and sunny and a great day was had by all.

Now back to crafting and Handmade Monday at Handmade Harbour, do pop over, it's a great linky party to join in with.

It is always great to be asked to make something special and a couple of weeks ago I was asked if it was possible to alter my Art Hanger to take 3 pegs for showing off photographs of their three boys.

Photograph Holder

I'm pleased with the result, I think it turned out well balanced and was the ideal gift for Fathers Day.

So in addition to the single peg for holding notes or photographs.......

Single Peg Note Holder

and the 2 peg Art Holders for showing off your childs Artwork........

Art Holder

I can now offer Photograph Holders with more pegs. I've had a little experiment and I can possibly do up to six pegs but with a different type of hanger than the ribbon that I usually use. I'm still playing about with this so watch this space.

Have a great week everyone and take care

A4 Diary Covers

I've also had a brilliant week with some special house guests, my Mum, my Daughter and my Grandson, 4 generations spending some quality time together has been wonderful.
We have been very lucky with the weather here in Suffolk today, some of the country has had a bad time of it over the last few days and although we have had a few rainy days this week today has been warm and sunny.....

To complete the week I was also featured in Christmas Pie Crafts as a guest blogger, thank you Jill, it was lovely to join you in your blog.

I have another busy week ahead, don't forget it's Fathers Day soon (17th June). I've got a few things organised but I'll be doing a separate post for this special day.

I'm linking this post to Handmade Harbour as part of Wendy's Handmade Monday linky party so pop over and check out everyone else's great blogs.

Wishing you all a good week

Leo's Dragon Plaque

Welcome to my little corner, this week I'd like to show you a new plaque I painted for..... guess who?

It started off as one of 5 sketches that I emailed over to the client and this is the one she chose for her baby sons room, the remit was a dragon for a room with the colour scheme in red, white and dark blue and not too babyish so it would 'grow' with him.

A Dragon for Leo

Firstly I pencilled in the chosen design.

Do you recognise what I have mixed my paint on?

Yes, it's the lid from a tub of butter.

Nearly there, not much more to do.

Dragon Door Plaque

Finished off with the dark blue boarder and a red and blue ribbon for hanging.

This plaque fits in quite well with the countries celebrations this week. The dragon is very English and the colour scheme of Red White & Blue is very British and patriotic for Queen Elizabeth's  Jubilee Celebrations.

Wishing you all a great week end and a brilliant week.

This post has been linked to Handmade Harbour for Wendy's linky party, I hope you can join in.
