Just a quick one today, I've been away for a few days, spending time with some of my family, and what a lovely time I've had. Before I went one of my regular customers asked if I could do a 'House Rules' list. She decided what she wanted written on the list and she wanted it in a frame, therefore having the option of of it either standing on a shelf or hanging on the wall.

I'm going to do a few more of these with different wording and a variety of themes and I will try them out at my Craft Fairs, I was thinking of a Circus theme, a Jungle theme and maybe a Boating Seaside theme and what about a Daisy, Toadstool, Butterfly type theme, what theme would you like to see? and what would you have as your main House Rule?
I'm going to pop my link over at Wendy's blog as part of her Handmade Monday Linky Thingy Wotsit, I hope you can join me, it's a great way of checking out lots of other great blogs.
Take care

Jan - that is such a lovely idea... I can think of a few grown ups who might find them useful!
ReplyDeleteWould be great as a permanent reminder in a classroom too. 'Class rules' Very original and as always very lovely
ReplyDeleteMy house rule would be 'Shut The Door' my dad has a habit of leaving it open and letting the heat out.
ReplyDeleteThe plaques are a great idea, I love the little pictures you have done.

My house rule would be "Wash the milk bottles out". Since these are house rules, a theme could be based around a street of houses.
ReplyDeleteVery novel. Could have done with one of those when my lot were growing up. Love the choice of rules too. Beautifully executed all round.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea :) may habe to nick it in a few years time lol
ReplyDeleteLovely product. How about a Zoo theme and a 'Do not eat like animals' rule!
ReplyDeleteA great idea - bet they will be very popular
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I had something like that in my classroom but I wish I'd had it in the house when I was raising my boys! I love Pamela's idea! Very cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea am sure they will sell well
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic, I can't wait to see the other themes too. I reckon they'll go down a storm at craft fairs. x
ReplyDeleteOh Jan - this is lovely. I love Redneedle's idea for rules in the classroom - no sniffing, no texting, no earphones, listen when the teacher's explaining something, remember your notebook, textbook, pen and homework - shall I go on??? You'd never guess that I'm a teacher now would you? At home, it would have to be 'Put the lids back on', use the half tin of beans that are in the fridge and let the dogs out! Have fun!!!
ReplyDeleteMy house rule would be 'Put your cups in the dishwasher' - it drives me mad when they are just left on the side right next to it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea bet some of the adults can come up with a few rules. Bet they'll be popular at fairs.
ReplyDeleteIt's great! I'd love to know if it actually works!
ReplyDeleteLike the framed rules, very unique. There's got to be a christmas theme - 'Be good for Santa'.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. Never seen anything like it so it should be a hit. Really well done on that one.
ReplyDeleteNice idea. I should get a custom set for the hubbie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI could do with one of those for my 'grown-up' kids who are still here - but there'd be so many rules, I wouldn't be able to find a big enough frame! The final rule would be 'Please don't ignore the Rules!!'
ReplyDeleteI like it. There's an endless variation and I love how these could be personalised to any family.
