A Beach Hut for a Magnet

The sunshine has been lovely this week end, I hope you have had some too.
Sunny days makes me think of sea, sand and holidays.... it makes me think of Beach Huts too,

Here are some ideas for more, I love the fact that they can come in a multitude of colours.

Beach Huts

Each one has different detailing, I tried to pick a favourite but I keep wavering between the seagull, the fish and the deck chair.

It looks great on the fridge, unfortunately this wasn't a winning lottery ticket but it gives an idea of the size of the Beach Hut. (it's 2 x 3 inches) and strong enough to hold an A5 envelope with a letter inside it.

I saw a ship a sailing on a Hanging Heart

Hello all, I hope the weather is being kind to you wherever you may be. We've had sunny days but for the last couple of days it's been blustery here in my little corner of the UK.
I've been busy painting a couple of new Hanging Hearts, I think that the windy weather may have influenced me. I love these colours, they are so vibrant.

Boating Hanging Hearts

I thought the first and last verse in this little poem written by Anne Bronte suited these Hearts.

Boat with a Red Sail
My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring
And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze;
For above and around me the wild wind is roaring,

Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.
I wish I could see how the ocean is lashing
The foam of its billows to whirlwinds of spray;
I wish I could see how its proud waves are dashing,
And hear the wild roar of their thunder to-day!

These Hearts are 51/2 inches by 5 inches (14 cm x 12.5cm)
 and I'll be popping them into my Folksy Shop

Bye for now, I'm off to check on the other bloggers over at Handmade Harbour

Here's hoping for sunshine and warm days.

Handmade Monday

I'm lucky enough to live in an area that is not too far from many lovely buildings, many of them are Tudor, I love the black and white Tudor houses and one such house is home to a lovely little museum. The Ancient House Museum is a late 15th Century timber framed building, that now houses lots of interesting exhibits. Its higgledy piggledy with lots of crooked beams and sloping floors.

Ancient House Museum Sketches

I have done a couple of sketches of the house, a few tweeks and it will be finished, then I need to decide whether to keep it all black and white or should I add a bit of colour, what do you think? I'd love your views.

Across the Fen, a painting.

I haven't been doing anything new on the crafting front for a while, mainly because I've been trying to get organised for an exhibition at a local Art Gallery. Hopefully, I'm nearly there. I'm a bit of a 'last minute mollie'. I try to get organised and stay focused but you know what it's like, life takes over.
This is one of the paintings I'm putting into the show, it's painted using acrylic on a 16 x 20 inch canvas.
