Valentine Hearts on Folksy

It's almost Valentines Day, love is in the air, cupid is doing his job and Red Hearts abound.
Do you celebrate Valentines Day? I think Valentines Day can be too much of a commercial haul but it also gives us the opportunity, and in some cases a reminder (otherwise known as a kick in the rear) to thank our significant others, loved ones or just family or friends and let them know how much we care. So rather than going down the huge commercial route why not pop over to the Handmade Marketplace of Folksy where you find a multitude of lovingly made gifts.

Sketch Books, Love Potions & 2016

I know we say this all the time but I've got to say it again...... Wow, how time has flown, I can hardly believe another year has gone by and it's 2016 already!!!!!!

Like every New Year I like to plan on doing and making new things, for inspiration I've been looking through my sketch & idea books...

Pages from my sketch books

....they are full of things I can expand and experiment with, I'd like to do more work with polymer clay with a bit of paper mache thrown in.

I've been having fun with my miniature bottles so I'm planning to do a few more, my Christmas ones were a huge success so I thought I'd move on to Valentines Day themed bottles....

A Miniature Bottle for your Valentine

I've also been having a little play around with a logo for my Etsy Shop

Playing with Logo's

These are some of my works in progress, still lots of sketches and jiggery pokery to do but I'm quite liking this style and it's been great fun playing around with coffee and ink stains.

I'll leave you all with my best wishes for a wonderful 2016

The linky party over at Lucy Blossom Crafts  is still open so I'm popping this post over there, why not wonder over and see who else is joining in.

Valentine Cards & Gift Hearts all in one

Is it too early to be thinking about Valentines Day?

Well I know that it's never too early to be thinking about Love

Last year I made Hanging Hearts for Valentines Day, this year I have more Hearts but this time I've attached them to hand drawn cards. These do well for other occasions such as Weddings or Anniversaries, or 'Just Because' after all we don't need an excuse to tell someone we love them.

A Valentine Card and Gift in one

There is a mixture of Cream or White Cards and each one has a different hand drawn design.

The insides have been left blank

The Lindor Chocolates used as props have now been eaten......

Love on a Hanging Heart

Well, you didn't think they'd last past the photo session did you?
Mmmm they were yummy.

Ladybirds & Hearts

The Hearts can be taken off the card and hung up

Some of these are in my online shops, you can get to them via the links in the sidebar or you can message me on this blog.

Have you already made anything special for Valentines Day?  or have you yet to make something?

Have a great week

Valentine's Day Hearts

Did you know that it's only a couple of weeks away from Valentines Day??? There are a few clues about, lots of hearts, chocolates, flowers and all manner of things to do with LOVE.
The history of Valentine's Day--and the story of its patron saint--is shrouded in mystery, I googled it but there are so many explanations I decided to delve no further but I do know that 14th February has long been celebrated as a day of romance.

I've joined in with a few hearts of my own.....

Traditional Red Heart & Lovebirds

Blue Birds on a Hanging Heart

Love Bugs (Ladybirds) on a Hanging Heart

A Commissioned Heart to be used as a Wedding Gift Tag

Some of these are available in my Folksy and WowThankYou online shops or if you want one making in the colour or design of your choice you can contact me through this Blog or on my Facebook Page.

I've also painted a few more 'I Love You to the Moon & Back' Hearts similar to those I showed in this post in this Hanging Heart post here  and in my Facebook Album
I won't show them again here, please click on the links if you want to see more.

That's all from me for now

Lovebirds & Hearts for Valentines

It's time for another post to be linked to Handmade Harbour. I love Handmade Monday, not only is it great to look at what everyone else has been up to, it is also good to know that I'm getting regular visitors to my little corner of the blogasphere. (Thank you Wendy)

Like a lot of crafters I have been making Valentines Day gifts this week. This little trio has been keeping me busy.

I decided to attach these cute birds and hearts to wooden sticks instead of hanging them from a ribbon (although I will add a hanging ribbon for anyone who requests it). They can be displayed on their own in a jar or vase or put in with dried or silk flowers.

They are in my Facebook album and I've put a set in my Folksy shop, I like these and I'm planning to them in a rainbow of colours. I will stitch a couple of initials onto the Heart too for anyone who wants them.

Have a great week
